Happy Thanksgiving from everyone here at AppleiPhoneSchool.com! We hope everyone has a great day full of relaxation and time spent with family! Doug and I traveled all last night and are spending today with family! YAY!
Side Note: Doug broke his iPhone while we were traveling last night (updating Installer…do not ask me why he updated Installer!!) and had to restore to firmware 2.2 with no computer to sync with iTunes (we brought my laptop). So, his iPhone isn’t jailbroke and he is feeling very sad!

Although this was recorded in HD, it has been resized and compressed to make it a smaller file size. The file is still large because of the length of the recording. If none of those excuses are acceptable, I blame it on a PC. Someday I will have a mac…

The fella’s over at StarByte are proud to present Black Mamba Racer! This game is a pretty challenging game about racing in teeny cars amongst many different race tracks. When you first open the app, it asks for your name. This will be your profile name throughout the whole game however, you can change it in the Options menu. Once you enter a name, it takes you to the main menu where you can select from; Play, Options, or Help. Help will bring you to a screen where the Black Mamba Racer gives you a few tips on how to play, and strategies on how to win. Options brings up the normal options, such as Game Volume, Name Change, and others. Play will bring up the level select screen. Levels are set up in 2 races. The first is a time trial to see if you can complete the track in the allotted time. The second one is where you actually race against 4 other drones (Blue one is the toughest opponent, then Green, then Yellow, and White is not so good

I am totally with the 16% that use Categories to organize their applications! Though, it does seem to get pretty messy before I break down and start putting apps in their correct folders. I guess that is what happens when you download and test a ton of apps…things get messy! Doug uses Categories on his iPhone too. You can still vote on this Poll in our Poll Archive page. You can also vote/view all the past polls on the Poll Archive page as well. Below is the new poll.

I’m sure many of you keep finding new features of firmware 2.2 as you use it more and more. There are actually quite a few nice new features! One feature that was brought to my attention is that you can now take screenshots of the lock screen with firmware 2.2! You could already take a screenshots of your iPhone or iPod Touch’s screen by hitting the Lock button and the Home button at the same time. However, this feature did not work smoothly on the lock screen. Well, it seems Apple has taken pity on us and made this feature work on the lock screen as well. Which means, no more trying to trick your lock screen into getting a screenshot or using lengthy processes to get a screenshot of your lock screen.

Now here’s an interesting story. In the past I wrote about developers using certain application title tactics to get to the top of the application list giving their app more publicity. This was fixed when Apple quickly implemented a new listing strategy. We have also talked about how developers have had friends or employees write reviews on their applications, giving them a high star rating, making the application look worth the money. This was fixed when Apple created a new policy that required users to purchase an application before leaving a comments. Well, it seems that some developers (probably more than Apple would like to admit) have found ways around this as well.
