We thought this app was pretty funny and thought we’d share it with you. It’s pretty simple and you can have fun showing it to family and friends. It turns your iPhone into electric shaver. What makes this app good is the realistic sound effects. Notice touching your finger to the screen makes the sound change to a cutting whiskers sound. Here’s a demo video from the developer:
The developer sent us 6 free promo codes to give away to our readers. All you have to do is let us know you’d like a free download code for eShaver in the comments and the first 6 will get them. Just make sure you use your email address in the field when entering the comment.
The Dev Team gave a presentation on the jailbreaking and unlocking processes at CCC in Berlin last week. It’s about an hour long but very intersting. This was the first time most of the team had met in person. Here’s some notes I took from the video:
- There are about 180 active users from within Apple’s corperate IP range downloading pwnage tool or quickpwn
- Apple released their security patches one at a time which allowed each one to be reverse engineered. If they did it all at once, it may not have been possible.
- The Dev Team has worked through a lot of levels to get the jailbreaks and unlocks to work. Thanks Dev Team!
Below is a Video demo from MuscleNerd from the DevTeam. It shows his iPhone 3G sim locked and then shows the iPhone being unlocked via a soft-unlock which they are calling yellowsn0w..check it out below. There is no information on when this will be available for the rest of us The unlock will be released New Year’s Eve! We will keep an eye on the Dev Team’s website.
For a free app, Space Deadbeef has nice graphics and easy controls. You just slide your finger around the screen to steer and tap the enemy to fire. Watch out, they eventually start shooting back. Check out our video review:
So far, this is my favorite iPhone game. It’s highly addicting, great graphics and challenging. You have to build towers to keep the army at bay. Here’s our video review:
In the game Topple you try to stack the pieces as high as you can without tipping over. You can also use the accelerometer and tip your iPhone to help balance the stack. This game is very addicting. Also, the app is free for a limited time (It’s usually $0.99). Here’s our video review:
This game works really well on the iPhone. I did have some lag on my jailbroken 3G but after rebooting my iPhone it was fine. The controls are set up very nice and if you are a former Sim City fan, you’ll love it. If you’re new to Sim City, make sure to check out the help on the main menu before you get started so you can get to know how the game works. Here is our video review:
This is my favorite iPhone accessory ever. The Mophie Juice Pack is super light, stylish, and works very well. Check out our video review and let us know in the comments if you have any questions.

I’m sure many of you have heard about pastebud releasing copy and paste today for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Well, I finally had a chance to test it for myself. Below are instructions on how to set-up and use pastebud’s copy and paste technique.
The pastebud method of copy and paste allows you to copy and paste between Safari and Mail. This is basically achieved using a series of bookmarks via Safari. The initial set-up can be a little tricky (I will walk to through it) but, after that, it is a very sleek and smooth process!
For those of you concerned about the security of using this method…here is what pastebud has to say about that, Continue reading »
Although this was recorded in HD, it has been resized and compressed to make it a smaller file size. The file is still large because of the length of the recording. If none of those excuses are acceptable, I blame it on a PC. Someday I will have a mac…
