The Hedgewars team is working with ZodTTD to get the Hedgewars game ported to the iPhone (currently available for Windows and Linux). The game is in development and there is no information on when it will be released or whether it will be available via the AppStore of Installer. I guess we will just have to wait and see. Below is more info about Hedgewars and a demo video.
Hedgewars is a turn based, multiplayer, strategy game based on the ever so wonderful Worms Armageddon. In Hedgewars players take it in turns to control their team of hedgehogs, wielding a variety of wacky weaponry in order to annihilate the other team(s)! You can try the windows/linux versions over at Hedgewars (although we have progressed greatly from the current official release.) Continue reading »

The update to PocketTouch makes only one visual change to the application and that is the addition of a Volume Sensitivity option in the Settings menu. This allows you to choose between three levels of sensitivity; 1, 2 or 3. 1 being the most sensitive and 3 being the least sensitive. 1 is the least sensitive, 2 has twice the sensitivity and 3 has three times the sensitivity of 1. There were also some bug fixes, enhancements and added language translations. See complete change log below. PocketTouch is avilable through the BigBoss source.
1.4 Change Log:
• Completely reworked volume controller. This answers a long time request for more constant volume control while eliminating an anti-deafening safety net I had in place in all previous versions. Incidentally, this method uses much less math, resulting for a more snappier feel to the change. And while I was at it, I fixed the “bug” (read:laziness on my part) where you had to lift your finger completely off of the screen before changing swipe direction. Continue reading »

Aquapac has a 100% waterproof case for the iPhone. It is made of premium polyurethane and “is sensitive enough to allow full use of the iPhone’s dynamic fingertip touchscreen, as well as normal speak/hear clarity.” You are also able to make a phone call and use the camera through the case. It is good for keeping dirt and sand off your iPhone and is submersible up to 15 feet. If it still makes you a little nervous, it does come with a 3-year global warranty! The Aquapac for iPhone case is available for $25.00.
I personally am a big fan of OtterBox Cases and to me, the Aquapac for iPhone case is more like a water-proof pouch then a case but, if you are looking for a easy way to keep your iPhone safe from water, dirt or sand…this might be the way to go! I could also see the armband version of the case being very useful!
More Info:
“Aquapac 100% waterproof cases are sealed with the legendary Aquaclip™, a shatter-resistant premium polycarbonate seal with a pair of easy-to-slide levers. The Aquaclip makes direct access to your iPhone as simple as the flip of a switch. Continue reading »

Penguin Panic 2.5 consists of some strong and needed updates. The icon was changed once more. The main character that you control, “the penguin”, has now added a hat and a scarf to it’s attire. Also a small bar was added at the bottom of the start menu that includes: “Main Menu”, “Credits”, “Info”, and “Settings”. “Settings” makes me excited for the next version of Penguin Panic. You can’t do anything in the settings right now but, in a future release you will be able to change the “Penguin Color”, “Background theme”, “Difficulty”, and some other things that are not mentioned. The last major update is Continue reading »

Tetris 2.5 brings some great updates and finally makes me excited for further development of this application. The first update is that there is a new icon again. Also a small bar was added at the bottom of the start menu that includes: “Main Menu”, “Credits”, “Info”, and “Settings”. The coolest thing is “Settings”. Right now, you can’t do anything in setting but in a future release you will be able to change the “Background theme”, “Difficulty”, and some other things that are not mentioned. The last thing changed was Continue reading »

There have been quite a few apps released lately that Restart, Lock, Respring and Shutdown your iPhone. So, I thought I would run through some of the differences between them. It can get a little confusing so make sure you read carefully.
Restart/Killboard/Respring/Lock - These applications are one-touch solutions to restarting your SpringBoard. Just tap the application and they will restart your SpringBoard, bringing it to the lockscreen.
RespringBB - A one-touch solution to respring your SpringBoard without bringing it to the lock screen. Just tap the application and it will use the Set Language mode to respring your SpringBoard without going to the lock screen.
Shutdown - A one-touch solution to turning your iPhone completely off. Just tap the application and it will turn off your iPhone. This would be the same as holding down your power button.

There have been a few changes to RepoName since the last time I did a review of it. The splash screen has changed so that it no longer says Dav Team (because I guess they no longer exist). The UI of the application has also changed slightly…the search bar has been moved to the top of the screen and the enter button goes all the way across the bottom of the screen. The application now contains over 600 applications in it’s database. However, Continue reading »

The update to JFWChanger just changes the splash screen image. That’s it for this update. You can get JFWChanger through the BigBoss source.

Well, I’m not sure what happened but something I installed this morning decided to break my iPhone. So, I am restoring again…using WinPwn. It is pretty easy I just put my iPhone into restore mod, opened iTunes, selected Restore (while holding down the Shift key) and selected the firmware I created using WinPwn. The only thing I forgot to do was pull off my Installer PackageSources.plist!!! I hate when I do that! So, I will give all the applications I installed this morning another go and see if I can figure out what happened.

In the Citrix Application Delivery Conference in Melbourne, during the keynote titled Directions in Virtualisation & Application Delivery in the Dynamic Datacentre, XenDesktop was used simulate XP running on an iPhone. XenDesktop is “a next-generation desktop virtualization solution designed for a full desktop delivery experience in a VDI environment.” Basically it is a Unix application that allows Windows Sessions to be accessed over WiFi via a Citrix server. So, the iPhone isn’t actually running windows XP it just looks like it is. Here are some photos from the conference.

Do not install this application. I have tried several times to install PowerManager and each time I do, my iPhone gets stuck on the spinning wheel of death. I try everything to get out of it but, I end up having to SSH in and delete the application folder. I would recommend not installing this application. It is through the ModMyiFone source.
Update: I tested this on another iPhone and it seems to be working fine. So, I tried it again on my iPhone and it still crashes it. It must be conflicting with another application. I would say install at your own discretion.
Ok, now that I have this application working on an iPhone…here is a review.
