Tweetsville 1.0

Available In: App Store       Price: $3.99

TweetsvilleTweetsville is another Twitter app from the developers of Twinkle. Some have asked why create another Twitter app instead of add features to Twinkle. If you don’t already know, Twinkle isn’t just a Twitter client. It is it’s own messaging system built on Tapulous’ system. It also requires a Tapulous login where Tweetsville doesn’t. Tweetsville also costs $3.99 and Twinkle is free. Tweetsville seems to be built for exactly what users were asking for in a Twitter client. [Read more…]

Twinkle 1.1 Sneak Peak

Available In: App Store       Price: Free

TwinkleTapulous has released some info on the upcoming features planned for Twinkle. From what I’ve read, I’m very pleased. They warn that not all features may make it into version 1.1 but here is a breakdown:

– They are keeping the Tapulous account/service. (need for pictures and nearby feature)
– Future support for FriendFeed and other services.
– Multiple accounts
– Option to force Twitter info like avatar, user name, etc., take priority over Tapulous info.
– Built in web browser (for checking out links embedded in tweets)
– Clickable @replies
– Less annoying alert sounds (I would love it if there were a few choices!)

Overall, listening to the users is a great step to a perfect app and Tapulous and Twinkle are on their way. You can read the entire release here or at the developers blog at otierney.net. Make sure to leave them a comment so they hear your voice for future updates and let them know what you love so far! [Read more…]

Twinkle 1.0

Available In: App Store       Price: Free

TwinkleWow, I am excited about this app! I’ve been waiting for ever. Twinkle is a Twitter client for the iPhone and you’ll notice under the settings they’ve left it open to add more services. It’s a beautiful app and laid out perfectly. You can also invite others to use Twinkle right through the app. The kewl thing is it’s not limited to just Twitter (friendfeed maybe?). You can also take a picture and send it along with your message. It gives you a link in the message so anyone can see it even if they’re not using Twinkle.

Tapulous – Tap Tap Revenge, Twinkle and Friend Book – App Store Apps

Tapulous is a company that will be bringing three applications to the App Store. Two of which we are already very familiar with…both Tap Tap Revenge and Twinkle are apps currently available in the Installer. These are actually two of my favorite applications…I’m really excited to see what has been done with them especially since it has been said that both apps have been improved from their current versions! For example; Tap Tap Revenge will have the ability to play two player (see demo video below). It seems that Tap Tap Revenge is going to be free when it is first released via the AppStore (though that could change) and I do not have any pricing information on Twinkle. We are also not given any details on the Friend Book application but, it looks to be some sort of business card replacement application. At least the their poster’s tag line is, Business Cards Are So Last Year (see image below) [Read more…]

Twinkle 0.75

Twinkle Yay! Clickable links! and that’s not all! Now everyone can see the image you took with Twinkle via a link in your Tweet! Ok, enough with the exclamation points but this is really sweet. I also noticed the distance I choose in “Near Me” stays even after a respring. One more feature I noticed was that you can now follow people. Seems to be a glitch though, if I’m already following someone the button still says follow, I tap follow then it changed to stop following. It should start as stop following if I’m already following them. Do you follow me? :) [Read more…]

Twinkle 0.7

Twinkle I was soo excited when I woke up this morning and saw Twinkle in the Installer!! When Doug wrote about it the other day…it was still in private beta! But, now everyone can enjoy it!! I really like this twitter app, better than all the others I have used. There doesn’t seem to be any new features from the things Doug talked about in the Last Post about Twinkle. So, install and enjoy! Twinkle is available through the Polar Bear Farm source.

Twinkle RC 4

Twinkle While testing MobileTwitter I posted a tweet that I was reviewing a new Twitter app for the iPhone and someone twittered back asking if it was Twinkle. So I thought I’d try it out too. Twinkle is very well designed and has some really sweet features. One is the Near Me feature. I can see tweets around me from ranges 1 to 252,000 miles. Of course that means that it will post your location too (this can be turned off). Another sweet feature is you can attach a photo to your tweet. It looks like only other Twinkle users can see the image. It would be sweet if it would post a link to the photo like iTwitxr. As expected, it comes with the standard twitter features of replying to tweets, sending private messages, viewing profiles, public timeline, etc.

Here’s the bad news… [Read more…]
